Kuljen, aistin, unelmoin (I wander, I sense, I dream) is a series of artworks that started out in 2023 as experimentation of combining painting and sculpture. I became increasingly interested in taking my practice outside from the safety of my studio, to collect and work with natural materials. This project defined the direction of my later works where found pieces of driftwood interact with different mediums, inspiring ecological and philosophical reflection. Kuljen, aistin, unelmoin was displayed at Hoi Sie Gallery, Lappeenranta in 2024.
"The objects that I've collected remind me of places where I've experienced tranquility and gratitude. By making my own marks in them, I remind myself that, as a human, I too am a part of nature, which has given me this gift of creativity."
